Alright, just got semi confirmation from the server company. He is in the process of finishing up the setup for the new location.

I have actually known this guy for 20 years now. He was one of te original server companies I used when I made websites for fun.

The main reason for the switch is that the current company is outdated in the equipment. With 10 year old equipment, the performance is not the greatest. Wanting to increase the performance along with a more secure server. Along with the maintenance included on servers that the current company does not do.

When he gives me the go ahead, I will put the game in maintenance mode. After that he will download al the files and upload them onto the new server. It takes about around 2 hours to do the files. While the files re being changed over. I will start the DNS switch, this can take 1 hour, but typically takes 8 hours. Worse case scenario is about 24 hours of downtime based on how fast your Internet Service Provider gets the new DNS settings. Back in the day was 24 to 48 hours, so with newer technology we can hope for less than 8 hours.

I will gift some goodies once the game goes down for everyone being patient in the switch. We are sorry for the forseen downtime.
